In 2014, a group of interested neighbors began meeting to revitalize a neighborhood association, which hadn’t functioned since the 90s. These meetings eventually led to Articles and Bylaws and a Michigan non-profit organization founded in 2018.

This association relied on volunteer boards and the direction of a small group of residents over a course of years. It struggled with creating an operational entity and establishing an independent identity. In 2024, the association became dormant; it may be re-established at some future date.

Currently, neighborhood activities are organized by an interested coalition who operate under the banner “Farmers’ Union.”  This is meant to invoke the spirit of coalition through inclusion and mutual support. Any and all neighbors are welcome to bring their interests and projects forward.
