Monte and Marlena represented the board. Three neighbors were in attendance.

Monte provided an update on the Hubbard St property inquiry which has identified as a potential HQ for HFNA. He contacted the DLBA, but has not yet received a response.

The DLBA had reached out to the board a few months ago to schedule time at a meeting, but responses haven’t resulted in scheduling.

Marlena provided an update regarding the financial snapshot. HFNA had not been maintaining its own general ledger and has requested that from Clark Park Coalition to determine what funds are currently available and what requirements/restrictions  are involved.

Marlena has followed up with an offer for a neighborhood sign from the Dept of Neighborhood Services, but has been unable to get a response from our contact.

Neighbor, Pasquale, gave an informal update on the lots around Toledo and WGB from group discussions. The Marouns are interested in making the lots working lots for trucking operations. Marlena read Hubbard Richards’ update about the HAZMAT feedback period for the Ambassador Bridge. She also gave a brief summary of the environmentally related Levy action in which HFNA is a co-plaintiff.

The next item was an item sent before the meeting regarding a threatening sign located at 1111 Vinewood. The sign itself was focused on a complaint about uncollected pet waste. However, the concern about the sign was tone and language. After some discussion, it was clarified that HFNA is not an HOA and cannot enforce rules per se. However, as a matter of outreach and communication, we could ask a proximate neighbor to make contact to see what can be done to help resolve a potential conflict. Monte proposed a grant for dog-bag stations set throughout the neighborhood.

Neighbor, Kristin, joined to talk specifically about the special meeting for the HAZMAT issue and petition, encouraging participation. She also iterated Pasquale’s earlier points about the Toledo/WGB truck yard. There was some discussion about boundaries of HFNA and the issues in the immediate surrounds.

There was brief discussion around The Broderick, proposed development at WGB and Porter, and the former candy store on Porter at WGB, but there were no updates known.

Lastly, Marlena gave an overview to the neighbors about existing committees.
