In 2024, Hubbard Farms participated in the city-led program to provide 2 signs to each neighborhood.
Some of our initial design choices were, in the end, not available to us: the city made a decision to standardize historic district signs. However, we were still able to select colors and text. Last year, all neighbors were solicited to propose a motto or tagline. Then, a vote was taken. The land acknowledgement won by a large margin.
Here is the final design. The expectation is that they will be installed this spring (2026). The process was lengthy, due to multiple departments being involved.
In the end, we are scheduled to receive 3 signs. Two will be located at the north and south ends of W Grand Boulevard, facing W Vernor and W Lafayette. I believe the other will be sited at Hubbard and W Vernor.
